Neurosurgery Department

1. History

• The Department of Neurosurgery was established on May 28, 2015, as one of the specialized departments within the Surgical Block of Bach Mai Hospital. The department officially commenced operations on the 9th Floor of Building Q on September 9, 2016, marking a significant milestone in developing a modern, professional, and comprehensive center for the treatment of neurological diseases.

2. Functions and Missions

• Providing comprehensive examination and treatment for pathologies requiring neurosurgical intervention at Bach Mai Hospital.
• Developing specialized, spearhead techniques such as:
  • Cerebrovascular surgery.
  • Skull base surgery.
  • Endoscopic surgery.
• Promoting international cooperation, academic exchange, and accessing modern global trends and techniques.
• Participating in scientific research, training, and healthcare line management (directing lower-level hospitals), playing a core role in the hospital's professional network.
  With a team of highly skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses who are well-trained and constantly updating their knowledge, the Department of Neurosurgery always strives to provide the optimal quality of treatment for patients.
