    1. History

    • The Medical Supplies and Equipment Department of Bach Mai Hospital was established in accordance with the hospital's historical development and the requirements of each period. Over years of construction and growth, the department has undergone various developmental stages. Despite numerous challenges, particularly in meeting the increasing demands for modern medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment, the department's collective has consistently maintained a spirit of solidarity and high responsibility. The department has successfully completed all tasks assigned by the Hospital Board of Directors, contributing significantly to the hospital's overall success.

    2. Functions and Tasks
    Functions:

    • The Medical Supplies and Equipment Department is a functional department under the direct leadership of the Hospital Director. It is responsible for advising the Board of Directors on the management, procurement, and supply of medical equipment, medical supplies, and chemicals (excluding pharmaceuticals) to serve the clinical, sub-clinical, and research activities of the hospital.

    Tasks:

    • Advisory and Planning: Advise the Board of Directors on procurement plans and the development of medical equipment and supplies in alignment with the hospital's strategic direction.
    • Procurement and Supply: Organize the bidding, procurement, and distribution of medical equipment, spare parts, medical supplies, and chemicals (except for drugs) for all units within the hospital.
    • Asset Management: Manage the inventory, including recording, monitoring, and conducting periodic inventories of medical assets and supplies according to State regulations.
    • Maintenance and Repair: Organize and supervise the maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation for patient care.
    • Technical Training: Coordinate with relevant units to organize training and instruction on the proper use and basic maintenance of equipment for medical staff.
    • Research and Application: Participate in scientific research and apply advanced technology in medical equipment management and maintenance.
    • Safety Management: Manage and monitor the radiation safety of equipment generating ionizing radiation and ensure the safety of high-pressure systems in medical equipment.
