1. History
- Starting from the Medical Radiobiology Research Unit of the Ministry of Health located at Bach Mai Hospital, after over 55 years of establishment and growth, the history of the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Centre (NMOC) can be divided into the following stages:
- 1970 - 1978: Formation and operation of the Medical Radiobiology Research Unit.
- 1978 - 2003: Establishment and development of the Department of Nuclear Medicine.
- 2003 - 2008: Construction and development of the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Treatment.
- 2008 - 2015: Expansion and development into the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Centre.
- 2015 - 2023: Steady development of the Centre to new heights.

- Examination and treatment in the specialties of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.
4. Outstanding Activities and Techniques
- Modern Nuclear Medicine techniques for diagnosis and treatment:
- Diagnostic nuclear medicine, especially PET/CT and SPECT imaging for diagnosis and monitoring of cancer, cardiovascular, digestive, neurological, endocrine, urological, and musculoskeletal diseases.
- Treatment using radiopharmaceuticals: Basedow's disease, thyroid cancer, and several other cancers.
- Pain relief for bone metastasis cancer using P-32 and Sr-153.
- Oncology Diagnosis and Treatment:
- Radiotherapy:
- 3D Radiotherapy
- Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Brachytherapy
- Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT) using Y-90 microspheres for liver cancer and liver metastases.
- Permanent interstitial brachytherapy using I-125 seeds for prostate cancer.
- Cryotherapy.
Systemic Therapy:
- Intravenous chemotherapy
- Intra-arterial chemotherapy
- Intraperitoneal and intrapleural chemotherapy
- Intrathecal chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Targeted therapy
Gene Therapy:
- Gene mutation testing for cancer diagnosis and treatment: EGFR, KRAS, NRAS, BRAF...
- Adipose-derived stem cell (ADSC) production and autologous application in treating: Knee osteoarthritis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
- Genetic counseling.

The Centre has been recognized as an "Excellent Labor Collective" for many consecutive years, with notable honors including:
- 2005: Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Health.
- 2008: Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
- 2011: Third-Class Labor Medal.
- 2015: Second-Class Labor Medal.
- 2017: Ho Chi Minh Prize (Decision No. 104/QD-CTN).
- 2018: Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Health.
- 2019: First-Class Labor Medal (Decision No. 1883/QD-CTN).
- 2021: Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health.
- 2024: Certificate of Merit from Bach Mai Hospital.
