    Department Information

    1. History

    • Bach Mai Medical College is a school under Bach Mai Hospital, operating on the "School within Hospital" mechanism. Established in 1945, with over 70 years of formation and development, the school has trained many generations of intermediate-level medical staff for Bach Mai Hospital as well as many central and local hospitals nationwide.
    • In 2013, the school was upgraded to Bach Mai Medical College from its predecessor, Bach Mai Medical Intermediate School. To date, the college has become one of the high-quality medical human resource training facilities in the country. Currently, the school offers full-time college-level programs in 4 majors: Nursing, Rehabilitation, Medical Laboratory, and Medical Imaging Technology, alongside an intermediate-level Nursing program.
    • The faculty consists of highly qualified and experienced lecturers, including 10 Professors and Associate Professors, 01 Doctor of Science, 22 Doctors (Ph.D.), 52 Masters, and 20 Bachelors. The main practice facility for students is Bach Mai Hospital—the first special-grade complete general hospital in Vietnam—which provides a diverse disease model and modern equipment for clinical practice.
    • The school has cooperated with various international organizations and universities, such as JICA (Japan), Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital, Kanagawa Dental University (Japan), University of San Francisco, Temasek Foundation (Singapore), Taipei Medical University, Mahidol University (Thailand), and the Hoc Mai Foundation (Australia).

    2. Organizational Structure
    The organizational structure includes:

      • Training Department
      • General Administration Department
    • 02 Professional Faculties:
      • Faculty of Nursing: Including Departments of Basic Nursing, Basic Sciences, Clinical Nursing (Internal-Pediatrics), Clinical Nursing (Surgery-Obstetrics), and Dermatology.
      • Faculty of Medical Technology and Pharmacy: Including Departments of Basic Medicine, Rehabilitation, Medical Laboratory, Medical Imaging technology, and Pharmacy.

    3. Functions and Tasks
    Functions:

    • Train Nurses and Medical Technicians at college and intermediate levels.
    • Provide re-training, continuous training, and update new knowledge and skills for medical staff.
    • Conduct scientific research and social service according to the school's professional tasks.
    • Foster domestic and international cooperation in training, scientific research, and technology transfer.

    Tasks:

    • Implement training programs at college, intermediate, elementary, and regular training levels according to current regulations.
    • Perform scientific and technological tasks assigned by authorized agencies; combine training with scientific research at state, ministerial, and grassroots levels.
    • Ensure democracy and transparency in training and scientific research; apply research results and technology transfer into teaching and vocational counseling.
    • Establish a quality assurance system and conduct self-assessment and quality accreditation.
    • Build enrollment plans and organize admissions; manage training activities, examinations, and the issuance of degrees and certificates.
    • Organize clinical practice training in the health sector according to government regulations.
    • Manage students and organize comprehensive educational activities (sports, culture, arts).
    • Recruit, manage, and train the faculty and staff to ensure quality and quantity.
    • Manage and use land, facilities, equipment, and finances according to law and hospital regulations.
    • Cooperate with enterprises and organizations in vocational education and career counseling.
    • Care for the life and protect the legitimate rights of staff and lecturers.
    • Implement reporting regimes to superior management agencies and the hospital.
    • Perform other tasks assigned by the Hospital Director.
