In the days leading up to Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27), Bach Mai Hospital has continued to receive invaluable gifts. These are not material presents, but handwritten letters—some written in haste, some marked by tears of joy—carrying the heartfelt gratitude of patients and their families from across the country.

Each letter tells a story that has passed through the fragile boundary between life and death, standing as a powerful testament to the compassion, dedication, and extraordinary efforts of the Hospital’s “angels in white.”

A Life-Saving Journey on Lunar New Year’s Eve
For the family of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hung from Son La Province, the line between life and death had never felt so fragile. On Lunar New Year’s Eve (February 16, 2026), his father was urgently transferred to the National Heart Institute in critical condition, with diagnoses including acute heart failure, myocardial infarction, coronary artery stenosis, and bilateral pleural effusion.

In their letter, the family expressed deep gratitude for the close guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, the professional leadership of Dr. Tran Ba Hieu, and the prompt emergency care delivered with the highest sense of responsibility by Dr. Nguyen Cong Minh, Resident Dr. Nguyen Phi Thuy Linh, together with the dedicated nursing team of Do Thi Mao, Nguyen Thi Hue, and Mai Thi Kim Lien.

Thanks to their tireless efforts, what seemed almost impossible became a reality. On February 23, 2026, the patient recovered remarkably and was discharged from the Hospital.

A Joyful Tet for Another Family
Also at the C8 Department of the National Heart Institute, the family of Mr. Le Quoc Trinh from Phu Tho Province was able to celebrate a full and joyful Tet holiday after his father, Mr. Le Dinh Dac, successfully underwent surgery and was discharged in stable health on the 25th day of the last lunar month (February 12, 2026).

The family expressed their sincere appreciation to Dr. Ngo Phi Long, who directly performed the surgery, Dr. Le Duc Thang, and the devoted nursing team including Vu Thi Dao, Nguyen Thi Hoa, Nguyen Duy Long, and Tran Anh Hong. In their words, “Bach Mai Hospital has always been a trusted healthcare destination for the people.”

At the close of their letters, the families extended heartfelt thanks to the Board of Directors of Bach Mai Hospital and the leadership of the National Heart Institute for building a team of highly skilled and compassionate doctors and nurses. For them, Bach Mai Hospital will always remain a place of trust, hope, and healing for the community.
