As the Director of Bach Mai Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dao Xuan Co has spearheaded numerous breakthrough strategies to enhance the quality of medical services and meet the increasing healthcare demands of the public. Under his leadership, the hospital has implemented vital projects ranging from investing in modern medical equipment and digital transformation in hospital management to advanced professional training for medical staff.
With over 30 years of clinical experience, he has pioneered modern techniques such as continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), plasma exchange (PEX), and plasma filtration. Notably, he and his colleagues developed the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) technique, establishing Bach Mai Hospital as a leading unit in Vietnam for treating critically ill patients using this method.
