Ngày đăng: 23/09/2026On September 22, on the occasion of the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival, a delegation of volunteer doctors from the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, in coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, visited Bach Mai Hospital (Ninh Binh campus) to engage in professional exchanges, share experience, and present gifts to pediatric patients under treatment.

Welcoming the delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung, Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital, emphasized that the visit serves as an opportunity for young doctors from both countries to network, learn, and exchange professional expertise; thereby contributing to nurturing friendship and promoting healthcare cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Within the framework of the program, the delegation toured the physical facilities and gained insights into the medical examination and treatment activities, professional organizational model, and development strategy of Bach Mai Hospital (Ninh Binh campus).
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, the visit provides an occasion for young Cambodian doctors to study the operational model of a top-tier referral hospital at the local level, while exchanging experience in medical examination and treatment, technology transfer, and human resource training.
Based on the discussions held during the event, both sides identified practical avenues for future collaboration, such as enhancing long-term and short-term professional training; organizing joint volunteer medical programs in border areas; and sharing experience in digital transformation, as well as the application of technology and artificial intelligence in medical care, health screening, and community health management.

Representatives of the delegation of volunteer doctors from the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia expressed their desire for Cambodian doctors to have more opportunities to study, receive training, and participate in specialized conferences at Bach Mai Hospital. The Cambodian side also proposed strengthening coordination in surveying the epidemic situation in border areas, thereby contributing to improving community healthcare capacity.
From professional sharing to Mid-Autumn gifts
Beyond being an activity for professional exchange, the visit carried profound humanitarian significance as it took place right on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The delegation directly visited, offered encouragement, and presented gifts to pediatric patients receiving treatment at the Pediatrics Center.
Among the pediatric patients visited by the delegation were children of donors who had donated tissues and organs—families who had once given away a part of their loved one's body to grant a second chance at life to other patients.
Although simple, these Mid-Autumn gifts carried the warmth and heartfelt care of medical professionals from both countries. It was also a way for the compassionate spirit of the medical profession to transcend geographical distances and borders, connecting hearts that share a dedication to patients.

Sharing a journey for community health
Concluding the program in Ninh Binh, the delegation had an additional special experience by joining the train that transports medical staff, employees, and doctors of Bach Mai Hospital from the Ninh Binh campus back to Hanoi, where they experienced Laughter Yoga—one of the meaningful mental health activities regularly maintained at Bach Mai Hospital for medical staff, employees, and patients.
On that journey, the Cambodian guests had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the work behind the operation of Bach Mai Hospital (Ninh Binh campus). The regular commutes between Hanoi and Ninh Binh by the medical team are not merely geographic movements, but a journey to bring high-quality human resources, advanced specialized techniques, and the expertise of a top-tier referral hospital closer to the people.

From handshakes in conference rooms and gifts handed directly to pediatric patients to a shared journey on the train, the visit created a deeply meaningful connection between Vietnamese and Cambodian medical professionals.
A bridge built on professional expertise, compassion, and a shared goal: for the health of the people.
