Ngày đăng: 17/09/2026On September 16, Bach Mai Hospital and Terumo Vietnam Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, opening a phase of extensive coordination in human resource training, advanced technical development, scientific research, technology transfer, and the application of digital solutions in diagnosis and treatment.
The signing ceremony marks a new stage of development on the foundation of cooperation between the two units in ECMO training, building simulation training models, and supporting the enhancement of professional capacity. The common goal is to bring advanced medical knowledge and technology into practice, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and bringing practical benefits to patients.

From ECMO training to over 250 cases deployed
According to Ms. Nguyen Do Bao Chau, General Director of Terumo Vietnam, one of the outstanding results in the cooperation process between the two units is the ECMO simulation training program. The two sides coordinated to organize 4 training courses for 47 trainees; after the training, more than 250 ECMO cases have been performed.
"Today's ceremony demonstrates the shared commitment to enhancing professional capacity, promoting innovation in healthcare, and bringing better treatment outcomes for Vietnamese patients," Ms. Nguyen Do Bao Chau emphasized.
In the new cooperation phase, the two sides focus on three areas: training and professional development; enhancing advanced treatment capacity; digital transformation and the application of advanced technology.
The cooperation aims to build a core team of instructors, gradually supporting doctors at Bach Mai Hospital to become training experts for the domestic and regional medical network. The two sides also plan to promote the application of new solutions to support evaluation, treatment decision-making, and the development of complex techniques in clinical practice.

Cooperation needs to be concretized by real value for patients
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung - Vice Director of Bach Mai Hospital affirmed that, as a special-grade, top-tier general hospital, Bach Mai Hospital determines that medical examination and treatment always go hand in hand with training, scientific research, and the updating and transfer of techniques.
Cooperation with domestic and international partners is an opportunity for the hospital to access advanced knowledge, technology, and training methods, while spreading professional capacity to the medical network.
"The hospital hopes that cooperation after the signing ceremony will not stop at documents but will be concretized into action programs, clear objectives, progress, and products. The two sides need to promote their strengths to jointly improve the quality of medical examination and treatment and bring practical benefits to patients," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung emphasized.
Accordingly, the two units will enhance training and human resource development; promote scientific research associated with Vietnam's practical conditions; update and transfer technology; and apply digital solutions and advanced technologies in diagnosis and treatment.

Bringing technology from the training room to the bedside From a professional perspective, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc Son - Director of the Intensive Care Center, Bach Mai Hospital, expects the cooperation to create conditions for many advanced medical techniques to be accessed, evaluated, and effectively applied in Vietnam.
According to him, the cooperation between the hospital and medical technology enterprises needs to go beyond the introduction of equipment, moving towards training, technology transfer, and evaluating the effectiveness of technology in actual conditions.
"The important thing is that good technologies need to be brought to patients, evaluated in actual conditions, and create clear treatment effectiveness," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc Son shared.
From the achieved results, this Memorandum of Understanding opens up opportunities for Bach Mai Hospital and Terumo Vietnam to develop more systematic cooperation programs in the fields of ECMO, cardiology, simulation training, advanced techniques, research, technology transfer, and digital transformation.
Not only aiming to enhance professional capacity at Bach Mai Hospital, the cooperation is also expected to spread techniques to the grassroots medical network, thereby contributing to capacity building of the system and helping Vietnamese patients access an increasing number of modern, safe, and effective diagnostic and treatment methods.
