On March 23, Bach Mai Hospital solemnly held a ceremony to honor scientists who were recognized as Professors and Associate Professors in 2025. This milestone reaffirms the hospital’s continuous dedication to intellectual excellence and medical ethics, contributing to its steady advancement on the international stage, grounded in evidence-based medicine.

Strategy for developing high-quality human resources – Standardizing leadership capacity

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Party Secretary and Director of the hospital, on behalf of the leadership, extended congratulations to Prof. Dr. Mai Duy Ton and the newly appointed Associate Professors: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Hai Binh, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Song Giang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Thai, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Minh Tam. He emphasized that this achievement is not only a source of pride for the individuals and their families but also a valuable intellectual asset of Bach Mai Hospital.

With a strategic vision, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co stated: “The growing number and quality of highly qualified scientists clearly reflect the hospital’s enduring development philosophy: placing knowledge, ethics, and scientific research at the core of all activities serving the people.”

The hospital director entrusted the newly appointed Professors and Associate Professors with the responsibility of becoming “leading figures” in their respective specialties—not only excelling in clinical practice but also actively engaging in education and knowledge transfer. “A true teacher is one who leaves behind generations of outstanding students” – this is the mindset of those who carry the dual mission of physician and educator.

In his orientation remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co underscored the need to standardize the qualifications of managerial staff. The Party Committee and the Board of Directors are committed to creating favorable conditions for experts to excel, while also setting increasingly rigorous academic standards for leadership positions across units.

The alignment between the leadership and the intellectual workforce in implementing human resource development policies is demonstrated through concrete actions, such as expanding opportunities for scientific research and fostering a healthy competitive environment where healthcare professionals can demonstrate their capabilities. This serves as an important foundation for Bach Mai Hospital to develop into a modern “hospital–university” model, functioning both as a healthcare provider and a center for education and scientific research.

Behind these prestigious academic titles lies a journey of dedication, where intellect and compassion go hand in hand. The scientists honored this time have made remarkable contributions to both national and international medicine.

On behalf of the honorees, Prof. Dr. Mai Duy Ton expressed deep gratitude to the hospital leadership and affirmed: “Academic titles are not a destination, but a motivation to continue contributing. Passion for science and the aspiration to enhance the Bach Mai brand is a journey without limits.”

Connecting the flow of history: From tradition to the next generation

The honoring ceremony stands as a testament to the continued legacy of excellence upheld by generations of Bach Mai physicians over more than a century.
