This initiative marks an important step in the hospital’s comprehensive digital transformation roadmap, aiming to enhance transparency, convenience, and service quality for the public.
Automatic payment similar to expressway toll collection
According to Bach Mai Hospital, the ETC system will apply to all cars entering and exiting the hospital gates.
Visitors can make payments through the following methods:
Automatic payment via ePass/VETC tags:
The camera system will automatically recognize the ETC tag attached to the vehicle and deduct the fee directly from the user’s traffic account, similar to the process used at expressway toll stations. Vehicles can pass through quickly without stopping to pay cash.
For vehicles that have not installed an ePass/VETC tag or whose traffic accounts do not have sufficient balance, visitors can still use alternative payment methods such as:
Scanning a QR code provided by staff at the gate to make payment via banking applications
Bank transfer
Cash payment

Reducing congestion and ensuring transparent management
The implementation of the ETC system is expected to bring several practical benefits, including:
Reducing congestion at hospital entrances, especially during peak hours
Enhancing financial transparency, as all entry and exit data as well as parking fees will be automatically recorded and managed through the electronic system
Providing greater convenience for visitors, eliminating the need to prepare cash or spend time stopping at entry and exit points
Regulations for hospital staff
For vehicles belonging to staff and employees of Bach Mai Hospital:
Vehicles with completed documentation will be automatically integrated and managed within the system.
Vehicles with incomplete ownership documentation will be allowed free parking until June 7, 2026 to allow time for completing the required procedures. After this date, these vehicles will be subject to fees in accordance with general regulations.

A representative of Bach Mai Hospital stated that the deployment of the ETC system is part of the hospital’s broader effort to modernize management, accelerate digital transformation, and place citizens at the center of its services.
The hospital hopes to receive the cooperation and support of the public as well as all staff members during the implementation process.
